As a flight instructor for over 2 years, I take pride in producing competent pilots that understand the full envelope of their airplane's capabilities. I have instructed over 500 hours in a variety of aircraft, include Cessnas, Pipers, and Cirrus under both Part 61 and 141 curriculums. I hold all Part 61 endorsements: Tailwheel, Complex, High Performance, High Altitude, and RVSM, and am certified to teach both airplane single-engine and multi-engine.
My journey started at Reid-Hillview Airport in high school, looking up at airplanes on Calaveras departure outbound over the hills to their various destinations in the San Francisco Bay Area. An EAA scholarship helped kickstart my training in a Cessna 172 at AeroDynamic Aviation at Reid-Hillview Airport. After 2 years juggling schoolwork, side jobs, and flight training, I finally got my private pilot certificate in my first year of college. After getting my first entry-level job, I funded the rest of my flight training through flight instructor.
The difference between a mediocre pilot and a good pilot is that the good pilot asks "Why." They can connect the dots between complex procedures and simple triggers because of first-hand experience with underlying systems and aerodynamics. The checklist is exactly that: a checklist, not a "Do-list".
Outside of flying, you will find me training for my next Ironman event. I also enjoy visiting secluded nature spots and spending time with my nieces.
